Renting an Airbnb was the best thing we did for this incredible trip to New Orleans.

Our Mid-City Shotgun House rental was affordable and centered right in the heart of the city. A 10 minute drive in any direction took us to many of NOLA’s famous local spots and the Canal St. streetcar line was a five minute walk from the house.

While you are in New Orleans be sure to check out the Frenchman area. Frenchman is not as crowded as the French Quarter, there are great clubs, shops and jazz spilling into the streets. Frenchman’s art market is the place to go for unique items created and crafted by the myriad of artists who call New Orleans home.

City Park is an incredible oasis in the middle of New Orleans. The park features the diner Morning Call, where residents and tourists alike can enjoy coffee and delicious Beignets. The pastries are the French cross between fried dough and doughnuts, and Morning Call is actually open 24 hours a day. Other sites of interest within the parks boundaries include the New Orleans Museum of Art with its free five acre outdoor sculpture garden, an amusement park for the kiddies and New Orleans Botanical Gardens boasting stunning rose gardens and incredible glass domed conservatory.

No trip to New Orleans would becomplete without a visit to The French Quarter. Exploring the area on foot is recommended since the crowds there make driving a challenge. It is easy to imagine yourself back in time as you walk through the old homes shops and resteraunts of historic New Orleans.
